Which AI Civ do you like the best?

There are the ones we hate covered in the other thread, but what AI civ do you like to see in your game?

The one that doesn't DoW me on sight :D

But seriously, I think I like to see China, Denmark and Arabia around. In most cases they are reliable trade partners and good, loyal friends if you work for that with DoFs, RAs and common denouncements.

120% pick rate, if it's a domination game:
-Harun (Arabia) ... as he is supposed to start in desert/flat area which is good for an quick assault on the capital and usually is dead before his UU comes into play.

120% pick rate, if it's not a domination game:
-Darius (Persia) ... as his UA makes him always the richest AI and that is best for flourishing RAs easily.
-Gandhi (India) ... as he is the least expansive (more room for you) and usually friendly/peacefully.
-Harun (Arabia) ... yes, him. Also usually has more money than other AI and is a good trade/research partner. However sometimes he snags CSs and covets wonders - still better than a warmonger.

Reasons not to have them randomed (avoid these guys):
Hiawatha (Iroquois) - strong early UU and super annoying UA.
Napoleon (France) - Annoying border expansion (which steals resources and leads to war earlier - plus he's a warmonger anyway).
Oda (Japan) - UA is always on and always dangerous. Don't wanna touch him.
Alexander (Greece) - Backstabbing Warmonger with suicidal tendencies. He also is a idiotic chatter all to often and tells you every 2 turns, that your empire/army is so small (even when your 50x larger than him) or he mistakes you as a city-state. Seriously I want just want them to shut up with such nonsense (this is/I'm not roleplaying, mkay?).
Ramses (Egypt) - It's already hard enough to get wonders built on higher difficulties...

For all my hate, Monty.

Got sick of seeing the usual Rome/Greece/France appearing again and again and again, especially Rome dominating France or America or getting dominated by Greece.

So I just go advanced setup and add in Monty in every game I play now. More fun for everyone that way, even better if he is on another continent!

One more vote for Harun here. He doesn't seem as psycho as the others and is actually pretty generous when it comes to RAs and stuff.

On a given game: Whichever civs start the furthest away from me for the same reason I always hate whichever AI civs are my neighbors.

I used to like Gandhi as he's absolutely pacifist but he gets bullied all the time so I'm very hesitant about signing RAs with him.

Now I have a new all-time favorite - Washington. Probably the most realistic superpower AI - he truly treats and protects his friend as such if you do the same. No "revealing deceptive practices" - the story is here.

Washington is nice to see since he makes a pretty reliable ally for resources, although he tends to get steamrolled by the other AIs.

My absolute favorite may just be Genghis Khan of all people. While he tends to be aggressive, he can also be strangely peaceful for long stretches of the game, especially when you manage to get on his good side. Even when I play against him, it's hard to tell exactly how he'll act in a given game until he begins to make his first major moves, which can be interesting. But mostly, I just find his cheerful greetings of "hey, sausage man" endearing. *shrugs*

Also I'll have to second Smallfish's mention of Monty. Yes he was on my most-hated list, but he's also one of my most loved. As annoying as he can be, he just looks like he's having so much fun. At least you know he's enjoying himself when he plays against you.

I've always quite liked Catherine. She's typically strong, but not too strong, and makes a good trade partner. I find she doesn't DoW me too often, and seems pretty stable overall. I usually latch onto her if at all possible.

In my latest game, Cathy was constantly backstabbing me, like it was a national tradition to try and capture those Spanish colonies :D But in the same game, one of my most hated AI civs - Hiawatha - was one of my most valuable friends. Although he ended up nuking Lizzy and gobbling up every other civ on the continent, he also remained completely peaceful with me. I kept a huge army on our border for deterrence, but I have never seen a single Iroqouis unit nearby. He even let me win the space race, though he had the tech advantage - guess he was focused on building up his immense military.

I have to agree, Monty is great! Always straightforward, always cheerful, war with him is a pleasure :D

Catherine is a treacherous swine. Even if you spare her mercy and show that you can her up, she'll still declare war on you eventually.

My vote goes to King Kamehameha. He's just so bad ass and he looks like a good dude. I always make friends with him and go out of my way to protect him. AI wise, he's pretty loyal as well.

Harald Bluetooth. He's usually on my side and is reliable, but he's not especially useful and his tendency to declare war on everyone can be a nuisance if I have a DoF with him. The main reason I go for him is just the sense of personality I get from that AI, from his leader screen, cheerful-sounding greetings and 'Have you seen my longship?' intro to his in-game tendency to declare stupid wars and need rescuing.

Polynesia.
They never declare war on me and are always friendly and willing for trade and diplomacy

Yeah, agreed. Only once have I seen Polynesia play differently than normal and expand like crazy, warmonger a bit (though not huge amounts), etc., and that was probably cause of the randomness involved in each Civ's stats when you start a game. Otherwise, he usually just sits back and chills, maybe builds a couple of wonders, might circumnavigate the world, but that's about it.
Of course, he's prone to getting killed by other civs sometimes due to this, but I'd rather have that than a backstabber next door.

Monty, for the same reason as others. You always know exactly what he will do.

Edit: I find that Monty can be a strong ally unless you are his only neighbor. You can buy him into wars with other AI's very easily.

Least fav?

Honestly, AI's like Elizabeth and Washington. They're both jerks 100% of the time, always expanding toward you even if there are better spots. Their wars are always unpredictable and their troops well hidden. Neither is willing to settle amicably unless you have 2:1 military or better, and haven't taken a city from them.

I have found a way around that to a small degree. I've started offering their terrible cities back to them in exchange for all their money.

Caesar. I know it seems weird, but in my experience, they usually don't DoW, and make fair trade proposals. Plus, they don't pull the DoF steal.
