I didn't see a poll like this; if there is one and I missed it, apologies in advance.

Title says it all. Which civ will you play as in your first BNW game?

I've seen this kind of thread a million times, but probably Brazil or France to try the culture Victory, maybe on small continents or a low-sea level archipelago.

Recently changed to the Shoshone! I wanna check out the pathfinder! And of course the extra city tiles!

Byzantium because their my favourites and then all the new after.

I voted Morocco but it's between them or Venice. Both look like very solid trade teams. I'm probably going to go for a standard or more on a continents map.

Edit: Poor Zulu, they will be the last to get a vote.

Probaly gonna do like i did with GaK. Play a civ some turns, get bored, and try the next, untill i really get rolling.

I'm going Shoshone first for the old staid and true Diplo victory. I'm anxious to try Venice, Portugal, and Indonesia once I get a feel for the new mechanics. I'm thinking I will try Venice for my first Cultural victory. I'm also considering the Zulu for a Autocratic diplo victory, just for the lulz.

At some point I will also try out the Byzantines, just to see how much the new Piety helps them out. And India too. If they didn't feel compelled to change it much, then the new mechanics must help them to a certain extent. I intend to find out.

I'l probably play a 10 civ map as Arabia so I can see all the new leaders while getting the hang of the new trade system and the new piety tree.

I'll probably try to win a diplomatic victory too passing through a world religion proposal.

Poland. Been waiting a long time to get my hands on the poles... That didn't come out right.

I was going to go with poland or morocco but now I think I might go Brazil to try the new culture victory. Seems intimidating though, so many possible great work slots, it doesn't seem like you couldever fill them all !

Actually, that's a good idea!

I keep changing my mind. At first I was gonna go with the Shoshone, then the Zulu, but now I'm thinking it might be best to go with Poland. They're not really focused on any victory type, so they might be the best choice for learning all the new mechanics and changes.

No love for the Zulus, huh? Where's TheKingofBigOz when you need him? :)

It's probably not a popular choice as a first civ to try because they are geared toward conquest and the whole BNW expansion is about diplomacy and culture.

I think a lot of people would like to try the Zulu, just not on their first game.

Venice. I'll be playing a multiplayer match with some friends in a day or so, and I need plenty of time practicing the phrase, "Nobody expects the VENETIAN ACQUISITION!" for when I take their city-state allies.

Assyria.
They still look like they perfectly compliment my playstyle.
Steal techs on conquering a city? Yes please.

Their UU and UB are both perks to things I build regularly and early.

I'm going to pick a random civ and visit all the new civs in thier diplo meeting screens to check those out! Then I'll play a game probably with Poland.

I'm going with Brazil or Morocco. Morocco to learn the trade system, Brazil to mess around with the culture and diplomacy stuff.
