For me, Communism is my favorite. I play a mean game as a Despot, up until I discover Communism and thats when I stage a coup and have a revolution and become Communist. Every now and then I will switch from a despotism to a monarchy until I discover communism, but I always always always choose communism. Which is your favorite?

Republic.

@Kool Keith: I'm sure he was talking about in game governments.

Democracy.

I'm also more of a Communist in terms of Civilization III (my true political ideology couldn't be farther away, however).

Main reasons are basically the extremely low corruption rates which help alot when you have empires as big as I usually (meaning always) do, and the fact that communism is a militaristic government, meaning war and its effects are no problem but rather an enticing political decision when your empire needs some boosting in terms of economy, technology, and rating.

I'd play as a fascist state more often if the effects of xenophobia weren't so dramatic. I mean, fascist states shouldn't recieve negative effects from xenophobia in the form that they do in Civ but rather a boost of some sort to represent the industriousness that is sparked in the indegeneous people of your country by xenophobia (e.g. fear of outsourcing and therefore an innitiative to work more effeciently).

My economy as a communist is always outstanding. When I stay a depotism until I discover communism, i normally have about a +50 PGT economy, and when I switch to communism, it goes up to +150 or +200 GPT. I have never had any problems with my economy as a communist!

Democracy mostly, sometimes Communism.

I'm more of a Fascism kind of guy(total control) though i HATE that I can't make it where Fascism can pay it's citizens to work harder(instead of killing them)

Almost always Republic. Feudalism was great for a 100k culture game though...kill your citizens so their kids can read and pray.

I've been hanging on to Republic before switching to Democracy lately, especially if I intend to revolt again to Communism, but I always end up with either Democracy or Communism eventually.

Republic when it comes available, then democracy.

I haven't had problems lately with war in democracy since I tend to wait until I have a pretty good stock of luxes before starting any elongated wars, but when I started playing the game some time ago, I did have a citizen revolt and overthrow.

I was finally pushing the Zulu back on their heels and capturing their cities, I had a good supply of gold but was running turns in the negative since I was fiercely building war units and it all blew up.

If I'm playing a religious civ, Constitutional Monarchy is my favorite. Otherwise, usually Republic.

its too much trouble for me to support units in republic. Communism is a big improvement from monasrchy, because corruption is lowered, so you make more money, waste is reduced, and military support is now never a problem.

That's exactly the reason that I can't stay in Republic indefinitely, support costs.

That's why you have Marketplaces and roaded worked tiles. The Commerce bonus is quite powerful, and when done properly is more than enough to support even large armies.
