Please only vote in this poll if you have tried all of the new civs in BNW.

I am curious to know which civ you tried last. Please respond with some comments about the new civs in general, and especially the one you tried last.

Was it because the civ did not appeal to you for some reason?

Perhaps you saved the best or last?

Damn, I voted without reading what the question actually was. Sorry! You can delete one vote from Assyria.

I haven't even tried Assyria or Zulu yet because I've been too fond of the new peaceful mechanics to be interested in warmongering. I've also missed Portugal, Shoshone and Indonesia. Of the ones I played, Venice was last because I wanted to get familiar with BNW mechanics before taking the "odd" civ.

How have people finished so many games of Civ?

Since BNW came out I've managed to play 3 games. A game typically takes over 12 hours of dedicated play.

How have people managed that for 9 civs already?

Indonesia for me, kept putting them off as I'm not really a fan of their UU or UA.

It's been out for three weeks now. I generally do a game per day, maybe two days if it's a long game.

Quick combat, no family, friends or sleep.

Voted Indonesia because I've tried the other eight, at least to some extent. Also Indonesia is a mess.

Get home from work, start a game, play until victory, go to sleep, wake up next morning, go to work, plan next game at work...

I've only tried Indonesia, Brazil, Venice, New France and a little of Portugal and Morocco ATM. After I've properly finished games as all of these, I'll probably eventually try out the Shoshone and Poland. Have no intention of ever playing as Assyria or the Zulu.

i've played Poland, Brazil, Morocco, Portugal and the new France in regular games and a lot of SfA so far. next up is at least one game with Venice, probably the recent Deity Challenge. i don't know if i will try the other civs anytime soon, maybe i'll wait until they are featured in GotM.
abstained from voting because i still have 4 civs "left"

I saved Indonesia for last. I didn't really have anything against Indonesia, but their extra trading resources are nice to have in game so I had them as an AI opponent to trade with in most of my games.

how...?

My games last for days on end and I'm usually up all night playing them.

Venice. I despise the gameplay mechanic or even having them in my game as a random opponent.

I forced myself through a game as them (my final one with the new civs). I start to explore my immediate surroundings. In one game my second city would have been on a coastal hill, on a river, next to a mountain, with three salt, and two fish....and King Solomon's Mine. Instead it was just my nearest opponents 6th or 7th city and then eventually a puppet city that can't be the early wonder powerhouse it should have been. I hate having to let my opponents settle cities near me in hopes of gaining the land I was surrounding my immediate capital.

I think the Merchant of Venice is a crummy game play mechanic. Its not fun to be defenseless against saving your city state allies, short of being in a total war with Venice killing all their GM's.

I have to restart many games that Venice appears as one of the AI. Dandolo spawning next to an expansive enemy (Iroquios for example) has been an instant game over in my experience.

I am currently in search of a mod to remove them from the game.

It's going to be a long time before I'm eligible to vote in this poll. I'm in my second BNW game and so have seven more civs to go even after I finish winning my current game.
I've won as Venice (Freedom Ideology with UN then minor time machine to abstain from the vote & also win via Culture).
I'm well on my way to winning as Shoshone (With Order ideology)

I'm thinking Zulu will be last & second from last will be Assyria.

I haven't played Brazil, Zulu, Morocco, or Indonesia yet. Well, I've started games as Brazil but not finished one. I'm not certain who is going to be last, probably Zulu or Morocco.

You're not alone. I suspect many of these people are playing on standard or faster speeds. I play on at least epic and sometimes marathon so finishing a game within 1 day is usually out of the question for me. Even if i dedicate the entire day which i try not to do anymore its just not possible. Ive thought about increasing speeds but enjoy epic style too much

Amen, I hate that as well. At least they should require Venice to be allies with the CS first, like Austria.

I went in alphabetical order. I played each to obtain their associated achievements.

This. I'm playing indonesia now, so I still have few to go. But I know that my last one will be Zulu because Shaka is the last in alphabetical order.
