If you are looking for another forum about Technology or or City Improvents. I made one. Just search for Most Important Technology 'or' Most Important City Improvent !!!

why are people saying that they use Leo's Workshop JUST to upgrade settlers. I think that is crazy. I dont really see much of a difference between sttlers and engineers. Engineers are better but why not use leo's to upgrade militaary. A dragoon into cavalry . so perfect. military gets sooo advanced. when i dont have leo's workshop i still have elephants when i discover cavalry.

but, belive me, i always get leo's workshop.

Why are you complaining, then? I always rush for Leo's as I can upgrade my out-dated units. Only problem is that they lose veterancy and it gets cancelled out whaen u need it most.:(

sometimes.

But what does 'jou' mean in 'which three wonders is jou best?'

It's irritating, when your men lose veterancy just when you've built them up. Tell me, someone, what exactly does it mean? Does a vet. have a better chance of success in any battle, or is it only important against barbs? There's nowt on the Civilopedia about it. I know it's important, but not why. Do tell...

i dont know why

i think it gains some sorta defence thing

Yeah, I have a few questions...
What exactly does vetrancy do? (I don't know either, jtb and unknown_spirit)
What exactly does fortification do?
What exactly do hit points and firepower do?
(I mean, I know generally what they are and how good they are, but is there any exact number or something?)
I am pretty sure that hit points times defence eaquals total defence, and the same with firepower and attack, but I might be wrong.
I may have asked some of these before, but here they are togather.
:nuke: :mutant:

for a unit

are hit points times defence a units defence
are firepower times attack a units attack

if not... wut are hit points and firepower???

Wow, its amazing to see this thread still going after so long!!

I've reconsidered and so now I think the absolute most valuable wonders in the game are:

1. Eiffel Tower
2. Oracle
3. Lighthouse

These are so overpowering and exciting that if I can get them, I don't even bother with any other wonders in the game! The Great Library and Statue of Liberty are close runners up!

hmmm.....

Yawn....

I'm just waking up....

Must have been having a nightmare. I dreamed that I actually built the ET, Oracle, and LH....

The nightmare deepens... evidently I even thought these wonders were worth something!

"Its a madhouse.... A MADHOUSE!!!"

Tops are (at SP Diety, long game) Michelangelos Chapel, JS Bach, and Hoover Dam, with the runner up of Leonardo's Workshop.

Better to ask this in a separate thread, but here is the short version:

1. Fortification double the defensive strength of land units within it.

2. Hit Points - the way of accounting for the "health" state of a unit. A warrior begins with HP=1. Multiply by to, and that is 10 hit points. A Cruiser has 30 HP, and a BB has 40 HP. In a battle, the game does some math magic in a fast series of "battles", and the first units whose health drops to 0 or below loses, and the human player sees it as a unit that gets killed. The more HP a unit has, the better chance it has of surviving a fight.

3. Firepower (FP) - in the game math, when a unit lands a "blow" on the other (e.g., wins the mini-battle that is occurring while you see the dust cloud of the fight), a HP is deducted from from the loser. This is done one HP at a time with most units because the FP is 1. For some units, the FP is 2. When that unit lands a blow, two HP are deducted from the health of the opponent....

Ummm..... in a word, no. Nice stab at it, though. Best to refer to other links for details of how combat is resolved. Exact details are quite complex. ;)
