Still in the top 200!!
As much as I am enjoying the temporary hosts they are trying out in this series, they are only funny as they offer such easy targets for the regulars (Anne Robinson in particular). Otherwise, I reckon it cant last for much longer on this basis - John Sergeant was terrible!

So, any ideas for who would make a good PERMANENT host?

I wondered about the following -

Nicholas Parsons (good at panel games - Just a Minute with Paul Merton for example)
Bob Mortimer (nice and sharp)
Clive Anderson (might not let the contestants get the last word though)
Nick Hancock (bit too lightweight?)
Ian Lee (y'know from The 11 O'Clock Show - out of his league?)
Ricky Gervaise
Sacha Baren Cohen

Any ideas of your own?

Clive Anderson would be good I think - it's just his cup of tea.

My vote goes to Boris Johnson. That would be excellent.

Clive Anderson would get my vote.

Needs to be a host witty enough to come up with his own one-liners now and again as well as read the autocue.

My vote goes to Boris Johnson. That would be excellent. <--- Theres just no one else!

Why can't they just leave him there? All he did was exercise his right to have sex... big deal.

Well I liked Deyton as the host. How about Jeremy Clarkson?

Just as long as its not Anne Robinson! She was bloody awful! :vomit: She basically tried to turn it into TWL, which sucks anyway (me thinks she's a bit too impressed with herself).

Don't really know enough about the candidates mentioned to be truly objective, although when Boris Johnson was a "contestant", he was quite good....

How 'bout Clive James (as a random thought).:)

How 'bout Clive James
I can't stand his voice. After listening to him speak for a few minutes I feel the urge to shove my head through the television screen. Which I can only imagine would not only be bad for my health but bad for my television.

"The Rock"

Clive Anderson is funny but the host tends to be the but of the contestants jokes (most of the time) and I dont think he'd "let it lie" if someone made fun of him.

Clarkson and Boris Johnson would be good GUEST hosts but doubt they could carry it for too long.

Would like to see Sacha Baren Cohen have a go at guest hosting - I get the impression he'd be pretty sharp

That bloke from the 11oclock show would be good I reckon, that is if he has any interest in the news. He is a lot like angus.

How about Hugh Laurie?
Not nearly cynical enough!
Actually it might be refreshing change from all that sarcasm.

Have you not seen A Bit of Fry & Laurie? That is packed full of sarcasm.
Alas, not for years. I suppose it is but not the cynical style of deyton.
