Why cant CTP (connect to servers)

I was frustrated at how hard it was to find civ 2 players so i tried looking for multiplayer in the origonal CTP. When i went to play it on the internet however the game kept searching for servers... i went and had a coffee in the hopes that it would have loaded and 10mins later it was still searching.... why?!

You need the updated servers.dat file.

Ive attached the updated file. Unzip it to your ...\ctp_program\ctp folder overwriting the old one.
