I'm sure it must be obvious but I can't see it :( I have a military leader through an elite winning a battle.

However when I move him into a city (which does have barracks) I don't have the option to build an army or hurry production.

Can anyone put me out of my misery please ?

hmmmmm. curious.
maybe you don't have the 'advanced unit actions' buttons activated. I'm probably wrong on this, but try to go to the options/preferences and check that box that turns them on.

You don't have enough cities to build an army, you need at least 5. As for the "hurry production", I don't know why that doesn't work.

He should have the option to hurry city production though, Ben E gras is right, he doesn't have those buttons turned on.

He also doen's have enough cities..

Thanks Sir Len - I had forgotten about the 5 city rule. I've just played a few more turns and 2 Turns after I captured Trondheim I was then able to build an army so that solved that one :) . However I still didn't get the hurry production option :(

MLGs cannot rush units.
Its 4 cities to build an Army.

EDIT: 'advanced unit actions' option doesn't matter for leaders because the Build Army and Hurry Improvement are normal actions.
The 'advanced unit actions' for a leader is Rename and Go to city.

Yeah I believe MGLs, can only rush improvements and small wonders.

I had the same problem in a recent game, had a great leader created and I wasn't able to rush a wonder or build an army (# of cities wasn't an issue). This has happened to me on occassion and I have never been able to figure out why.....

 I might be wrong, but it is probably because you have chopped some wood while building...
I know it applies to wonders. If for example you are building a library chopped some wood and shields went into the library bulding, you won't be able to switch to wonder until you finish the library...
May be something like that applies to MGLs ability to rush wonders..
I am probably wrong, just speculating, i never had such a situation with MGLs in my games.... again

EDIT: Oops, i didn't read all the posts above, I am wrong, MGLs can't rush units, just structures....
