Why did the last game die?

Oddly, I'm not convinced that we'll see any major changes regardless of "faction" vs "traditional". We've had several ruleset that were designed for changes (see C3DG3 and C34DG2) - neither of which ever saw a change.

There are various members in both games that did clamor for changes, but that's all they did - clamor, wail and point fingers. They never carried that through into action. I suspect that's going to happen here.

Should be interesting to watch though!

We will see how 51 % clean cut majority will alter gamerules, national laws, as well as making the laws fit with the civics at hand. It certainly depends on the emphasis of maintaining contemporary democratic conventions and a preference for bureaucracy vs. maintaining a semblance of historicity, roleplay and making elections count for real.
