Why did this happen?
Playing as Iraquois on Warlord. I had 2-3 cities and declared war on the Aztecs, figured I would quickly take a couple of cities. Very early in the game.
Bam, my cities went to disorder immediately. When I clicked on the unhappy faces, I got about an 80% 'historic oppression' (or something like that) message. These were Iraquois citizens in Iraquois cities who were apparently bent out of shape that I was attacking the Aztecs. Only about 20% was overcrowding. This was under the lowest level of government. Prior to the attack, which I initiated, they were all happy, smiling, and content.
I don't understand what caused this. I thought only conquered citizens got p.o. ed when you attacked their original empire.
Can anyone give me an explanation? Thanks in advance.
