Just finished polishing off a Big & Tasty f/ McDonald's (aka Mickey D's aka Ronnie Mac's Steak House aka McD's...)

There are many things to admire about America's most (or 2nd or 3rd most) famous brand -- and many things to despise about it... This is a poll/thread devoted to venting your angst about it.

What is the most despicable thing about McDonald's to you?

Eh, potential hazard ahead. Anyways, I don’t much care about Mc-whatever. Must admit that they are pretty handy when you’re downtown and drunk on a Friday night (which I hopefully will be very soon). I mean when you got the mad munchies, a small Mc-cardbord burger can be pretty good. :ack:

Edit: might just add that Mc-whatever is being ousted by independent pizza places and Sharwarma joints in Denmark. Like 70 are being closed or something…

I had my first pancake breakfast in McDonnies on Thursday!

I felt so American!
So much so that I threatened nuclear annihliation at the 'axis of evil' (a gang of junkies adjacent to me) with syrup running down my chin!

Tasted great, and will certainly sample this US morning delight again!

For the amount I can pay to buy a Big Mac combo, I can buy a much better Jack's Spicy Chicken combo at Jack In the Box.

I don't think McDonalds is so much more terrible than the industry sector as a whole. And I actually LOVE their food, particularly the Big Mac. And it should be noted that in North America at least (which is McD's biggest market by far), any damage from cattle production is local, since Canada McD's uses Canadian beef and the US uses US beef.

But I did vote "McCulture," and I sympathize with McFattie, although that's the consumer's fault, not the restaurant's. I agree that diets and overdependence on fast food is getting ridiculous. I don't have a big problem with profits.

But if I was really to vote eagerly, though, my vote would be "McEmployer" - because I think McDonald's does do a lot of good by giving kids first jobs, but I have a lot of problems with the working conditions they put those kids into.

None of the above.

I love McDonalds. Their food is fast, cheap, and tastes good (I know not really compared with gourmet foods but I like it). Only problem is the food is really bad for you, but you'll be fine if you only have it once in a while.

I voted for McBrats... McDonalds' food is dirt cheap in the US (well, now all the big fast food suppliers are), but I'm not sure about that in other countries. Years ago, kids showed off to their classmates with a McDonald lunch box - my daddy is richer than yours. Even in the recent (I know that happened, but not gonna say where that was), adults fight (yes, fight) in line just to get the quantity-limited promotion stuffed animals that come with the meals, so that the brats don't get mad...

Uh... was the "all of the above" option intentionally left out because a lot of voters will after that?

the McCrap, Ive only eaten there peobably 6 times in the last year, my stomach churns the minute the "food" hits my stomach.

oh,and hes going to kill you in your sleep and then everyone you know(the lucky ones will die with you)will slave in a slaughter house and die from starvation and sleep loss with in a month cheap labor force thats how mcdonalds makes so much money they dont pay anyone

I voted McBourgeosise, cause I ain't making money off of it!
Actually, the investors aren't either these days - McDonald's overexpanded in the 1990s and posted its first ever quarterly loss in 4/2002.

I love the McCulture whine -- hey, it's a FREE F***ING country. You don't like it, don't spend your money there. What is it with people outside America -- are they so used to being ordered around they sacrifice wonderful meals like stuffed sheep intestines and snails to eat an American hamburger? HAHAHAHAHA
Just kiddin' folks.
Personally, I love a Big Mac. I know it's terrible for me, but hey, ya wanna live forever? And Curt, try the Egg McMuffin. It's an interesting taste -- not something you usually get at McDonald's.
One note to the uninitiated: DO NOT DRINK THE SHAKES! No one is really sure where the ingrediants for those things come from -- just that none of them originated in this corner of the universe.
Best thing about McDonald's? The fries. Take Julia Chiles' word for it.

Off-topic (sort of) They pretty much ruined their shake for me by going Triple Thick this last year. Now they serve it with a spoon. If I wanted to use a spoon to eat my %$#%% shake I'd have ordered %#$%#@ ice cream.

Or I'd have gone to Wendy's, who have been pulling this for years.

A shake is supposed to be drank, not eaten... When will the insanity end?
