Why does the internet randomly cut?

I think I'm on a wireless router, and every day it cuts for about a minute. Usually, it happens when mom turns her computer off, but sometimes it does it randomly. It'll say "A Network Cable Is Unplugged." About 15-30 seconds later, it says limited connectivity.

Unfortunatly, it happens so fast I can't get any network information when it cuts.

Thanks for help :) It's not bad, just annoying.

P.S. It never happened before mom switched the router to the wireless one -- and she refuses to change it back.

the router might be rebooting daily. Thats my best guess.

Thank you. But why would it reboot at random times?

If you suspect your mum's computer is somehow at fault, install WireShark on your computer and monitor the network activity while you shut your mum's machine down.
You can send me the log, if you like.

My suspicion is that the signal just isn't very strong and sometimes breaks down alltogether due to interference. If that's the problem, you can try something like this to boost signal quality on your end.

All right, I have WireShark, now I have to wait a couple of hours. Doesn't usually cut until evening.

This is odd -- earlier I said that mom refused to replace it. But just a few minutes ago she said as soon as she finds the other router, she's switching it back as hers began cutting too.

I mean seriously, what have you guys been doing??? :p

I got a log, but it's too big to upload. But thanks for the help anyways.
