Why don't you number the pbem games?

Why don't you number the pbem games? I surmise it would become more convenient with the games at glance.

The threads would still be ordered by which had the last post so numbers wouldn't really make any difference since most threads have distinct names anyway. Also if you are in a PBEM you have almost certainly posted in the thread so it will have a dot in the thread symbol and so its easy to spot them.
