Why is search disabled anyways?

Big database takes lots of server resources, and a dedicated server (required) is too expensive.

Ideally the BBS should support indexing of recently updated threads for light-weight search but it's vBulletin which is $$$$ and no thinking ;)

It isn't turned off for the rest of us, Thunderfall probably hates you and turned it off for you as an act of hatred.

Umm . . . this statement seems unnecessarily agressive, but meh . . .

And IIRC, it has been turned off for all, it slows this server down already (the server is already kinda slow . . . )

And you didn't notice the sarcasm in h4ppy's post?

Anyways, it's off because if the search was enabled, it would use up so much of the server's resources that probably only about 5 users would be able to use the forums before it would start to take 3 years to load a page.

Nope. I took it literally, as I take all posts.

I suppose that's better than taking them internally, although it is a very dangerous thing to do as an absolute attitude towards all posts (here or elsewhere).

It wasn't agressive just the temptanion to say that was to great. (I myself have always wanted to say that, never get to the thread first)
