With steam many of us have problems (u can see similar treats), but this time i can't understand this: During the instalation, i have this message from steam " 1 files failed to validate and will be reaquired " (!!!). After the instalation stop!!!
What is this? what huppens? Does anybody knows? what's the solution??

Its saying that once you have finished installing Steam will attempt ot reauire the file probably from the online database (since you can install it from the Steam servers without using the DVDs). I don't see any error there, at least not yet.

For the steam tecknical support, i had this message:
" Thank you for registering an account at our helpdesk. Please validate the email address you registered with by clicking on the link below.

https://support.steampowered.com/confirm.php?username=.... "
But can't (no option !) click this link (!!)
What jokes are these??
Its asking you to validate your e-mail (which pretty much anything you sign up for will do). Check your e-mail and click on the link from the automatic e-mail Steam Support will send you.

Neither of your posts indicate if there actually is a problem. Can you provide any more details please? Are you connected to the internet when installing?

If the game doesn't finish installing (its difficult to understand your posts so I'm not sure if this is the case or not) then in Steam right click on Civ5 and select "Delete Local Content" then try reinstalling.

Also make sure Steam is not running and go into Program Files -> Steam and delete or rename the file "ClientRegistry.blob" (without quotes). Start Steam and let it download a new ClientRegistry.blob

Yes, i'm connected to the internet. Also my dvd is in my pc. (Anyway, i have the dvd why i need to (re)install the game from steam database??). Ok, i'll try by steam to see what 'll huppens
To validate my e-mail, that's the problem, i can't click the link(!!). They send me the adress but there is no way to click (it seems that is no link but a phrase)!

You don't need the DVD to play the game, it just helps with installing (faster to install most of the game off the disc then download the whole thing).

You don't need to reinstall it through Steam but it is an option.

Not sure what to say, it should work fine. Are you validating your e-mail in Steam or on an account for their support site? (Since you have to create an account on their website separate from your Steam account, for security reasons).

Of course i have account in steam (and second from civ4).
Thanks PrinceScamp, following your suggestions the game is now playable. (the problem with the e mail (for the steam technical support) remains).
But don't u think that this help (support) i must have from steam or firaxis or 2k (first)? The civ fanatics works better (eachother) than the professionals and their systems!
