Wich civ is the better civ for mp??

Hey... I have just bought Conquest just to be able to play multi player. And im am not disapointed ... Any way as I am a little new in the mp i would like to know wich civ is the best for mp... I could not search so i dont now if a thread like this has been posted before... Its a sad thing that you can only have 20 options in a pool, as i would like to have made one here...

ANY civ with an early UU. Carthage, Persia, Iroquois, they're all good.

The most popular MP civs right now are Sumeria, Aztecs, Inca, Celts.

Don't waste much time with the Hittites or Mayans. People are finding that these don't work as well as you'd expect.

Heh - I've only seen her playing Celts, but then, I've only played with her twice I think.

A lot of multiplayers were high on the Hittites when C3C first came out, but now people realize the horrible truth - the 3-man chariot is a "suckers' bet".

The exact opposite is true of the Iroquois. People were initially sour on them when they saw that the expansionist trait had been removed. People are recently rediscovering the power of the Mounted Warrior, though, and the Iroquois are regaining their PTW popularity.

All depends..i'd say for a newbie take a defensive UU (ancient) Civ
..Greece, Summaria, Zulu or Carthage are good, build lots of defenders (most mp games are "elimination-1 city=death)
Aztecs or Incans are good for an offensive player...
Over all i'd say play the Aztecs. Good traits, early UU -and it will keep old hands from using them-to jag a newbie into oblivion....

well it depends on who your playing with. If you get bunch of war fanatics who are trying to desparately search and destroy u in the early stage of the game, you probably need civs w/ early UUs but if you are allowed a quite long period of peace time to develope, i would recommend Civs w/ Alphabet learnt when beginning the game (like the French ) as it allows writing and then Literature. So you can build the Great Library before any1else does. I still believe the Gt. Lib is one of the best wonders u should get as it will give u a commanding lead in technology. (it gives u techs developed by two other civs for free)
dunno how long it will last tho. any1 has an idea ? yahahaha this is just my personal view. only for ur reference.
