Wich Civ2 feature would you like to see in Civ5?

Caravans and embassies were pointless micromanagement IMO.

A partisan system is neat, but the Civ2 version didn't work that well, and it was largely replaced by captured cities being in long-term disorder.

Well, it's not like that gives you much headache in micromanagement with these points, but they give more life to the game. Perhaps revised and expanded these concepts could obtain a big improvement.

The revolutions were an important point also, I always play Civ4 with the Revolutions mod.

If they are going to have "civil" units, along with the above, bring back spies and diplo's. Add to that lawers, missionaries, partisans, and slavers to make the conditions of long term disorder more variable. Each unit would cost a different amount. The higher the cost, the shorter the disorder.

That's easy, the wonder movies. The pyramids in real life (in the videos) show much more how wonder the are.

None of the above so far, and especially not diplomats.

The only thing I can remember liking more from previous versions of civ compared to Civ IV is the UI from Civ III. The canned UI package they used for Civ IV was kind of hideous and clunky (for civ at least).

Having Ode to Joy play when my cities are happy.

Seriously that's my favorite part of Civ 2.

Combine that with the fireworks when the cities are happy in Civ III and you might have something. :D

Also, I miss the caravans because I like the game to be as accurate to detail as possible.

I always loved Superhighways. They were so powerful and boosted your income so much we used to call them Stupidhighways. :P

Seriously though, I'd love to see a Test of Time like expansion for ciV. Multi level maps would rock. :D

Oh, and of course Peat. Dammit Firaxis. Bring back Peat!

Yeah. I don't really care if they are real life or CGI, but I miss the videos that are about the wonders instead of some generic build animation. Advisors were cool too.

Yeah, the videos were a lot better than the build animation.

I also liked the city view in Civ3. It certainly wasn't great graphics by today's standards, but I liked it. Probably just a personal peculiarity of mine, though.

Partisans would be interesting, but they'd have to be handled differently. I like the resistors in cities that replaced them, but, they should change it so, if they weren't stopped, it should lead to partisans in the field.

I liked the basic unit statistics in Civ II: attack score, defense score, firepower, and hitpoints. Units from later eras had more firepower and hitpoints, which greatly reduced the "phalanx beats battleship" problem from the original game. Civ III took a step back on that front, and Civ IV took a step forward again with the unit promotions. I think a combination of Civ II and IV's systems would be cool.

Stacking units.

Maybe it's been a while since you played, but I don't think you - or anyone else - wants civ2 stacking back. Civ2 stacks aren't really stacks as they are in civ3 and civ4. There is only one defender in a stack. If the top defender loses, the whole stack is killed. It is not really stacking. It is just the ability to end a move in the same tile. That's why nobody ever mentioned the "SOD" until civ3 came along: because it didn't exist.

What I want back is mostly graphical, the old palace/throne room. It was only graphical, but gave a sense of progress and achievement. It could be changed to have some relevant role in the game: new features could give bonuses of some sort.
