will mud golems ever be fixed?

Currently, mud golems are 0/2. I have yet to see them ever win a combat, so giving them the 2 on defense means nothing. Considering the intent, it seems like they should be a straight 2 strength unit set as "can defend only".

i've had them successfully defend a few times, the only problem is that as a 0/2 even with an empower 5, their combat strength is laughable.

One good thing is that since they defend, if you have them in a city about to be taken, the golems aren't flipped like normal units, instead count as defense.

Of course, they also don't auto-retreat to a city when enemy units are near by, making automation impossible.

waht are you suggesting? make them stronger?
or you could have them operate in two modes, worker mode where they are weaker, and then battle mode where they can't work, but can defend. still they would have laughable strength.

crazy idea: what about if they can combine forces, so for every other mud golem on the square they get +10% strength. so when under siege and you have 10 mud golems in a city, then the first one will have +100% strength, naturally after it dies the second one will have +90% strength, so can make a difference if fighting in large groups, but at the start with only 2 golems it doesn't help much for defence. i doubt it'd be too exploitable as you'd need 40 golems to het a strength 8 unit. which would take a long time and a LOT of hammers and upkeep. but at leastit gives you something to do with your huge pile of workers after you've finished upgrading every inch of your land(workers become pointless in the game after you've upgraded all your land).

not ENTIRELY true. there is the possibility of famine by Armageddon, in which case you need to rebuild all your farms in a hurry. Though i suppose that was only a surprise to me since i was new to the game. most people would see that coming and know to either raze some veil cities, or prepare for famine.

AI love to smash all your pretty buildings, then you need to rebuild them

I like the percent per tile, it makes sense that with them being made of mud to combined into one large golem. Or another idea like that is instead of just giving a percent give them an ability that lets two (or more) mud golems fuse into one increasing the strength but reducing the number of units.

I know, put your excess mud golems into catapults and hurl them at the ennemy. :splat:

cover the them with mud untill they can't see or move!
