Will there be a replacement for the world congress?

I was wondering if they may add a replacement for the world congress as a dlc, like maybe going a step further and adding some kind of union between countries (like the EU; AU; EEU). I think that would improve the game a lot since it would require different tactics (for example to destroy the union, being part of the union and protect it, etc) Also there could be bonuses to create such a union for some countries like germany, belgium, france, italy, netherlands, etc.

What do you guys think about such a feature?

A wonder Congress or even alliances probably won't happen until an expansion is announced.

The issue with Congresses and Allainces in games is the AI doesn't know how to use more manipulate them. So the AIs end up doing stupid stuff and the humans can manipulate the Congress or Alliances too easily.

Firaxis would have to take data on how Civ VI Vanilla is played to design how AIs could and should interact with others in a world Congress or even alliances.

There will be none in Vanilla, although developers could consider it for expansion.

Something they'd like to have but it won't be in the initial release.

I for one enjoyed the congress. I think city-states and the world congress were a huge step in the right direction for the civ diplo game if it weren't for the fact that gold ran the world. Yes, I know that's close to reality - but in my game I don't want my Diplo victory to come from the fact that I make the most money and can buy off every city-state under the sun. Liberations and Coups added another element I liked, but the design still needed more.

When it does finally make it's appearance, I'll be excited to see what they came up with; Civ6 looks pretty good so far - Ed and his team seem to consistently provide solid content.

Seriously I think a cultural victory when you are allies with all the A.I. would work if they didn't jimmy it so 'if you're friends with A then B will hate you forever'.

Have you tried Vox Populi's World Congress and diplo system? You WILL like it.

I have to agree.

In fact, everything about the Vox Populi mod is so good that I can't stop playing it. It's going to be what gets me through to October.

I always scramble to take control of the world congress so the AI doesn't ban every resource in the game.
