"Windowed Mode" option doesn't stay between sessions

So I boot the game, it's fullscreen mode. Beforehand, I had changed in the option so that it ran in windowed mode, but oh well. So I change it back, reset the game and now it's fine.

Next session, exact same thing happens. It keeps happening all the time. It's not a game-breaker, but it's very annoying. How do I fix this permanently?

Hello,

the classical, game in-depended, approach would be:

1. Open %My Documents%\My Games\Beyond the Sword\CivilizationIV.ini (Path could differ) with a text editor and check if "Fullscreen" is set on 0.
2. Check the file access permissions of the file and made it read-only.
