I am trying to make a deployment video using WMM, I wanted to do a special effects thing, similar to a few movies I've seen where they have
A map, and there is a point of origin and an arrow or a plane or something travels with a colored contrail behind it to various spots on the other map.

How would I make this video to put into movie maker?

Thanks!

I have serious doubts that WMM can do this. You'd need a slightly more powerful movie editor/creator. I know Adobe After Effects can do this, but it is neither free nor easy.

I also believe someone else on the forums did this not too long ago. Ill try to find the post.

It was me who asked this exact same question about a year ago. I have since picked up After Effects - with it you will be able to do this. (and much much more)

It isn't easy though - I learned it by watching a couple video tutorials. I'm not sure where I got them from..

Ah yes, it was you I was looking for. Just an aside, how much did you get AE for?

My work supplied me with the Adobe Essentials CS4 package :D (We use Photoshop and Dreamweaver, when I looked into it it turned out we had licenses for all sorts of stuff lying around)

Ah excellent. I was hoping you could provide me with a place to get it cheap. My license is running out (its some weird corporate annual one) and if I canf ind it for around 50$, Ill probably invest the money.

Oh well though. Ill see if my dad can get another year's license from his old coworkers.
