Windows XP

Considering the difficulty I have had getting Colonization to run under older versions of Windows I didn't think I would have any chance with XP. But I loaded it down anyway, choosing 'no sound' in the configuration - and it ran first time. Amazing.

Predictably the sound didn't work when I tried that but at least the game itself runs. Have others had similar success? What about getting the sound to work?

Colonization is one of the few DOS games I can still run with Windows XP. I don't know whether it's with sound or not, but I believe I did have music.

it did have music. i also tried my brother tried didn't work well the sound at lest

You could run Col for windows too - I do under WinXP, and I cant remember any problems....
The DOS version looks cooler though

I've done everything I know how to try to get sounds with no success. I could get the music to work fairly easily, though.
