Silver bells...silver bells...it's Christmas-time in the city...

Finals are finally over. Christmas fast approaches. Even faster is the approach of "The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring" to theaters. Alas, I am returned to my home.

My parents have a clunky old computer from the stone-age of 1997. They finally upgraded the RAM and got a cable modem, but with this uber-slow 266 MgHz (yes, kiddies, there was a time before Pentium 4 multiple gigahertz processors) I'm afraid I won't be playing CivIII for a good long while.

I'll continue to visit the forum, just to get a taste of CivIII in the meantime. Mostly, though, I'll be reading books to while away the hours. Then school will begin again, and I'll have to get a job, and then homework will come flooding in, my time will be constrained, and it will be harder and harder to play CivIII. It could be spring before I play the game again! Horror of horrors! I shan't think such things any longer. On to happier thoughts of phalanx and rifle, resource and research, empire and conquest!

Happy Holidays!

Merry f-ing christmas.

- I feel bad for you. I thought I was doing bad coming home to a slow P3

The plays the thing wherein we'll show the conscience of the king.

You can do it man. If I can survive with a 166 mhz Pentium 1 MMx you can take a P2 super fast 266 MHz.

:(

I think the slowness of this computer may be penitence for my sins...but that is a theologically unqualified statement--I can't back that up.

Agreed, its theologically unqualified - that and if its true I've been a very bad boy this year...which is true?

Peter

Not penitence for your sins, merely the end result of poor planning. Behold: I have a laptop! Civ 3 travels with me!:D

Rather useless thread here in civ3 general. While it mentions civ3, it does not appear to have much to do with it.

Spock: Spam reading of .73, Captain!

Kirk: Lock phasers and fire!

McCoy: Its dead, Jim.

Edit: Opps, moved it but did unlock it first, and I can not unlock in Off Topic. :crazyeyes

The reports of the thread's demise were a bit off....open again. ;)
