Robinson projection with enlarged Europe and Japan. The goal is to make the map and then also make a mod that has true start locations for all BtS civs + the extra Indian tribes from Civ4Col. I might also make a CityNameManager for the mod if it's not too much work.

Your projection is overall great, its only issue i see is that it is a bit problematic on Peninsulas, looking at how Italy and Korea looks. They look too chonky
But its always a dillema, especially Italy, projecting these regions on a civ map

I would like to revise Italy, but Korea is intentionally chonky because I want to be able to fit more cities in there. Perhaps Italy could be extended 1S for a less chonky projection?

It's the same projection as the new DoC map, just stretched to 102 x 186. The goal is to make a mod that adds all of the Civ4Col civs and a city name manager, but otherwise just be a TSL map with normal BtS rules. As much as I like the new DoC map, without the RFC rules, civs in crowded areas have essentially no chance to outcompete civs like the Zulu that have half of a continent to themselves, hence, making a bigger map that uses the DoC projection (and things like enlarged Europe) so that all civs will be viable when playing TSL on this map with standard BTS rules.

The only RFC/DoC things I want to copy into this map is a CityNameManager and the regional soundtracks, but I don't plan to have city names change on capture, I just plan for every settleable tile to have an associated city name (the English name for whatever the city is, so we'll have Warsaw, Canton, Florence and not Warszawa, Guangzhou, Firenze).

How about putting barbarians around such civs?

I reworked Italy and Japan. Also did the Celtic Isles. Ireland is the most important part of the map to me, and the part that I have put the most effort into. I made sure that each of the cities I plan to have founded in Ireland (Galway, Cork, Dublin, Belfast) has at least 1 food resource (Galway's is a fish in Galway Bay, kind of hard to see on the map). Italy is much skinnier and more accurate now, as is Japan. I'd love feedback on hills, resources, and forests.

Oh that looks much better now. I feel a bit of a knob for being a bit too mean.

I've been able to get semidesert and salt lakes working for this map. Still trying to get savanna, moorland, steppe, islands, and cape working. Adding volcanoes would also be cool. Here are some more screenshots...

Thăng Long is probably a tile above where it is, and so should the river be.
Also how did you get those textures on the tiles? I play on Vanilla so I'm kinda new to this

I created a mod for the map that included extra terrain types. Semidesert, salt flat, salt lakes, and wetland from RFC Sword of Islam, moorland from RFC Europe, and steppe and savanna from RFC Dawn of Civilisation.
I'm probably going to slightly distort some city locations to get historically important cities with minimal overlap
I'm almost done, all that's left to do is
* import the resources from DoC that aren't present in vanilla BtS
* import palm forest and marshes from DoC
* finish Central America, Indonesnia/Malaysia, and Polynesia
* add ice where appropriate
Here's a WIP screenshot

The first draft of the map is available to play. There are only 12 civs you can play as, I haven't figured out how to make all civs playable yet.

The second draft will involve adding all the DoC resources and features that aren't in vanilla BTS and placing them on the map, and also adding volcanoes and ice.

Then the third draft will involve allowing more civs to be played and maybe making a TSL and city name map.

I switched the hill texture to the RFC one, which I prefer. Also placed ice and revised coastlines in Siberia and Canada.

I find it quite funny that Gisborne is included as a map.

Could you explain what the new terrains do? (Their yield in particular.)
