Wireless Router = Radio?

I have a Belkin wireless router and today I was messing around with my speakers and (for whatever reason) I placed the headphone jack into one of the empty Ethernet ports on the router, and through the speakers can music from a local radio station.

Any explanation for this?

The wire itself may just be picking up a signal from the radio station. In theory, any long straight piece of wire would do that. I dont know if the router is involved at all besides the fact that it happened to be in the same place as the radio signal.

All wires do pick up stations as stickciv suggests. They simply need a non-linear device to "detect" the transmission.

Not sure whether this is poor engineering or just a coincidence.
