Recently I visited some other forums, some sports forums, because I am a great cycling fan and the forum of my internet provider. What I saw there was unbelieveable! Flame wars going on for no reason, insulting, spamming and very little to no moderating. Although I am interested in the subject I have no intent to post there. On a big sports forum is absolutely NO mod and the sound on this board is like *******, you little ****, hey you *****. hey guys it is only for fun!

So I must say, although I was disturbed by strict moderating on CFC when I first came here (and was new to boards in general), I know now that it is absolute necessary!

So first, thx to the mods here and keep up the good job

Second, what do you think makes people behave like that, because they don't have to show their faces? But what fun is it to troll on a cycling (or other minor subject) forum? Would they behave like that if they had to show their real names?

The have rage, and use that place to vent. I do it here but to a much lessor extent.

I used to frequent another forum. I was there long enough to read for a while and post seriously enough to break 2000 posts (you can probably tell by my registration date that I read more then post.) When the forum first started it was utter chaos. The mods did nothing. The English and Americans got into frequent pissing contests and the smallest spelling error could ignite a huge flame war. It was horrible. Then the mods got their acts together and it became a quite interesting forum, one guy even broke 20,000 posts.

They do it because they are cowards without brains. They can't have a discussion or even a heated debate without starting the flames.

I'll bet you dollars to donuts that if they were put face-to-face with those whom they are insulting, they would cower...

You can always tell who they are... they're usually the ones who never put their photos on the member photo threads.

yeah, CFC is a great forum - well managed and moderated - and I would much rather have a place with enforced rules that folks can maturely discuss matter of the world than a forum that allows an anything-goes kind of attitude.

Matter of fact, I'll take this chance to thank TF and all the mods for their fine work at CFC. Good job! :goodjob:

Still, I've seen some prety bad fora before (think 10,000 post long threads with spam). This is an excellent site.

Anyway, I have to agree that modding have to be strict.. Especially when you have over 30,000 members, and hence no possibility to know who they all are (more less trust them).

If they are anything like me it is due to a lack of a scanner or digital camera.

If anyone is dying to know what I look like they should feel free to send me the proper hardware. :lol:
