Got a wlan router + broadband this summer. Promptly set it up (without looking at guides/manuals/whatever)
It works pretty well.

However, when recieving files over msn instant messenger things go dodgey.
Initially, the file transfer goes smoothly at a good speed. But after a few seconds things slow down to an unbelievably poor pace (virtually not moving) and continue that way.
The only thing I can do to speed this up is send a file of my own to the other user. This then speeds up the other transfer to an acceptable (normal/regular) pace.

This happened when I first got broadband, then it stopped for a while until I got a new HD (avec fresh installs of everything), now it has started again.
I might have tweaked some settings to get it to work, but I really can't remember.

Help!
I appreciate my explanation is pretty bad, i'm tired, feeling tipsy, and just bad at explaining stuff anyways!
:)
