Well, on my most recent Emporer game, I was able to do something that I didn't think was possible. I built all of the early wonders.
I started out next to stone, did the standard worker first build. Built a warrior, then rather than build a settler or another worker, I decided to try for stonehenge. I got it, then figured, why stop there, and built the great wall too. Much later, after settling a couple other cities, I researched mathematics, chopped out a whole bunch of workers, then said to myself, it's odd that no one has gotten the Oracle yet. So I chopped the Oracle in one town (no Marble, but it was still pretty quick) and started building the Pyramids after that. Chopping about half of it, I got the Pyramids too.
Not only that, this was all without an industrious leader! Getting Stone next to your starting city really rocks
The only problem is that I only have three cities to benefit from all the wonderificness. And while there are plenty of places to settle more cities, none of them will have any production at all...
