PT wins games.
SoL was better when tall empires were good (before the latest patch). It's still OK, but the other wonders left are better. FP should still be on the list.

redrover, what do you exactly mean with "was better when tall empires were good (before the latest patch)" ?

hm, maybe I should have read the definitions here ..
but tall = few, but huge cities
wide = more cities, but still good developed
horizontal = many cities, but small each on

however
The new patch clearly made tall play a bit better than wide play.
vs

It's all been said by now, just vote to kill the beast.

PT; Good wonder IF your neighbors aren't a bunch of backstabbing weasels.
SoL; Not the worst one here.

Porcelain Tower (2) -3 and -1 from insaneweasel

note : the rule changed to -3,+1 instead of -2,+1 @ insaneweasel. --> so pt 6 -1 (insane) = 5 -3 (my vote) = 2

SoL, Is great and my #2 wonder behind FP #1, except playing india. I have wrotten some posts ago a full list of arguments and can't understand, especially RedRover57's argument. However, the production boost is enourmous.

PT - far too weak for my playstyle.

Pt is a very good wonder. But HS is prebuilding PT and GP boost and GE points
Eiffel Tower is good but a bit late

That 10 extra :c5happy: is important to any style of play.

shah, maybe you give a reason for the HS downvote ? you know, many people like it

Great people aren't all that useful in general.
You could get a great engineer to rush a wonder...
But then you could just build that wonder yourself.

it also has a boost for great people-generation. This brings by the time normally also some more great people.

And the advantave to rush a wonder is nice in cities with low production, but to get the culture bonus with the piety SP.

But for me, the main advantage is the +GP rate. ( I have many specialists later and use GP for GA later and my empire is than nearly all the time in golden age later ... )

I think these two wonders are roughly equivalent.

The HS is a wonder on a stick; with an additional effect.
The Hanging Gardens is just food in a single city; CS handle this for me, and empire wide. Plus it's the favourite wonder of the doofus that killed my favourite wonder.

The Statue of liberty is a truly awesome production boost, creating production in cities where there was none.

The Oracle costs a lot of hammers at a time when the policies available are nothing to write home about.

I messed up mine and am fixing it here.

Love the GL now, the free tech and maintenance-free library is impressive. Statue of Liberty is okay, but I never really get into it.
