Won't install

I was installing Civ 4 vanilla on my laptop and it messed up during instalation, there are no more Civ 4 files on my computer but it refuses to accept that. When i put the DVD back in the options it gives me are play readme and exit(i think thats what the third one is) but anyway, i can't play it since its not on here but there is no option to install it. I tried to go to remove programs and see if it was still on there so it would realize it was gone but it wasn't on the list. How can I install it onto my laptop?

I Sort of have the Same Problem.

I downloaded completely, i played for 3 days.. works fine.
I went on Muliplayer, told me new patch file... i downloaded... After that i couldn't play anymore, it kept havign an Error.

so i tried to uninstall to reinstall, i couldn't do that either... so i uninstalled it Manually and now I try to Reinstall it only says..

PLAY READ ME EXIT


I would really like to know the solution or atleast talk to a tech Support as i am really pissed off for this not working... and if this isn't solved i will be taking it back for a Refund... becuase i am disappointed in the game after having Civ 3 gold Edition work perfectly... but then Civ 3 Gold Edition requested my Confermation code again... and what do you know... mines already in use with my current one asking for new one... so i am VERY DISAPPOINTED in the make of Civs... they're great games... but low Quality on keeping them running.

Go to the C: drive, right click on civ4, and press explore. Find and click setup. If that doesn't work, well then, I don't know.

You need to clean your registry out. I use Eusing Free Registry Cleaner on mine. Run that and it should fix the install issue
