After v1.52 my civ 4 wont read my cd when it starts up, it keeps telling me to put in the cd even when its allready in the drive.

I dident have this problem with 1.09 or 1.0, so im not sure what to do.

Is there any *.ini or *.cfg or something where i can disable or enable something so it wont try and find the cd, or is there anything else i can do so it can find the cd.

Im at a lost here.. so please help me if you can.

That's odd...I know it's a rubbish suggestion but do you have another drive you could try it in? Or maybe you could make an image of the disc with Alcohol 120% or similar and use a virtual drive? Maybe then it would recognise it?

Hmmm im not much for making images of discs. Not even sure im allowed to to that.

But ya iv got 2 drives iv used both my normal dvd drive, and allso my dvd burner/drive. and it wont read from niether of them.

It's perfectly legal if you have the original disc...but if it doesn't load from either drive then I'm guessing an image on a virtual drive won't make a difference either. I think the search function here is still disabled so I couldn't find anything else that might be of help I'm afraid. Looks like a reinstall might be needed :(

Friend of mine told me i could use a no-cd patch. What is that and how does it work.

Ofc by the name i would guess it makes it so i dont have to have the cd in the drive when i play.
