Word Association, with a twist

Unlike normal word association, where someone says a word, then someone else says a word associated with that, and so on, in this thread, connect two seemingly unrelated words, and then the next person connects them through multiple word associations (and then at the end lists two more unrelated words for the next person). For example:

I post: computer---->cheese

Next person posts:

computer->user->person->humans->civilization->farming->cows->cheese

Friday----->boulder

The one above would have a score of 6, because six words were needed to connect the two. Let's see who can get the highest score! (The person who posted the two words, not connected them.)

The rules:

*Each "entry" can only be one word, or a compound word (which is more than one word that has its own meaning, for example ice cream or fire truck). You can't have other words with "the" word in the same entry (for example, you can't do "Michael Jordan").

*The connections must be realistic. Cream->milk is realistic, but blue->porn is not realistic.

*The word associations can't be based on the spelling/structure of the word. For example, hippo->high doesn't work just because they both begin with hi, or mate->fate doesn't work just because they rhyme.

*If there's a cross-post situation, the first post applies and any future posts that crossed should be edited.

*Considering this is a word game, I'm assuming the following applies: This thread will be deleted after 500 posts, and you must wait for two replies after your last post before posting again.

Let's hope this isn't just another stupid idea idea of mine, and first up:

classic---->chimpanzee

Lamp-->Light-->Daylight-->explosion-->Artillery

Tetrs-->Dating

Lamp->Filament->Glowing->Fuse->Cannon->Artillery

Ack! Xpost!

Tetris-drop-dump-dating

rather easy ;)

Polemics to Molecule

Polemics->argument->controversial->Big Bang Theory->physics->molecule

buttocks---->exit

Oh, and two more rules that I forgot to mention:

*The word associations can't be based on the spelling/structure of the word. For example, hippo->high doesn't work just because they both begin with hi, or mate->fate doesn't work just because they rhyme.

*If there's a cross-post situation, the first post applies and any future posts that crossed should be edited.

[these have been edited into the original post]

@CG: Yeah, that was rather stupid of me.

Dinosaur->archaeology->science->medical science->disorders->Anorexia

Pope---->Krispy Kreme

Edit: Yay, this is my 3000th post!!!! [dance] [party] [dance] Too bad I wasted it on an "auto-delete" thread.

Pope - Church - Donuts - Krispy Kreme

I should explain. . .Santa Paula Church, in Fremont, CA, does donuts and snacks after mass. . . .so that's how I came about that.
