I usually use the City Governor, except when I have to balance the population at 6, 12 or twenty. (In the "Growth" example, you can tell that the Governor is "on" as the city population number is in a white box.)

One thing you should not take wrong about these detailed strategy articles is a sense that they might make the game less fun or more tedious. I make many of these decision intuitively because my intuition is now twisted in that direction.

Great comments, cracker. As I said, the insights in your articles are terrific and are definitely worth the time it takes to read through and think about. I think you are right that developing a "feel" or intuition for efficient development in the early game is far superior both to working out a mathematical calculation for each decision, and to using a rigid approach regardless of the game situation.

That said, I do think that the feel can be obtained best by playing a lot of games, and, as you said, thinking about each one to divine what you could do better in the next one. Thanks for providing the benefit of your experience in those articles. As I read (and reread) them, though, I find myself wanting to log off the site, and just go play!

:king: Happy civving.
