totally outdated and bugged, im still working on an up to date version on a bigger map.

EDIT:

After my first turn here are things i have remarked (dont know if that word exist in english :crazyeye:)

1. I think they are to much cities in germany compared to the other european country, and it seems penalize them since production of their cities is not very good. I suggest you to remove 2-3 cities and maybe increase pop in the other cities, since Germany was one of the most populate country.

2. Population in city state have all one of pop. I imagine you just forget to set it, or is not your priority for the moment

3. Newfoundland (Terre-Neuve) was not a canadian province since 1949, so it should be british.

4. Sadly i can't help you with the channel, but anyway i think Panama should be american (but im not sure)

5. Not sure if you need to mod to do that, but i think you can change the color of the city state so they are not all black

6. (This one is more a personnal suggestion) I think by this time China was divided in multiple state. I think it would be grade if you can divide the territory in multiple city state (but you keep china as playable civ so it can unite China). But its only a personnal suggestion.

7. Maybe i would give more culture point, cause you cant select a lot of policy, at least with germany.

However its a very excellent map, and if you need help i will like to help you (not this weekend cause i have to prepare a huge exam) I will put a link in my thread to yours :goodjob:

which version did you test?

1. im not ready to give up Citys yet (also for the reason that Germany need to expand in Europe to stand strong as it in real History tried) im tryin to enforce them in other ways (manufactories in the Ruhrgebiet for example) if that doesnt help im may delete Köln and München and increase population in Prussia (east germany) since it was the ruling powerhouse of the united germany i definatly want to hold Straßburg due to its historical importance for tensions between France and Germany.

2. the 1pop city-state city's in non DLC version accidently happend cause i didnt had much time last days and i wanted to balance the main version first.

3. will be in next version

4. i m not sure about giving U.S.A. the panama canal, it wasnt actually completed until 1914 so i let it as city state now at the beginning under influence of USA, still not happy with that we may have to wait until a genius modder creates a canal improvement ;>

5. the city state colors well i set their colors in Worldbuilder to nother ones but ingame they just dont show up (as same as some river changings) no clue if thats a bug or working as intended i could change them in them XML files yeah but i cannot pack it as mod my modbuddy just dont works ;_;

6. as i read it was pretty much controlled by the Qing Dynasty with some Vassal States, any input bout that very appreciated i dont know much about chinese history when i get enough info about that i see what i can do.

7. will be in next version, enough for one and a half policy trees.

i also think about adding more mod civs maybe Canada and Australia (teamed up with Britain as British Commonwealth)


any suggestions are highly welcome.

EDIT: any one have a clue how you can set Citys as formerly hold by a City State so you can Liberate it?
 
Will try your new version. Like you i think Canada should be a playable civ teamed with UK.

P.S You should start a thread in Creation & Customization forum and ask your question about channel, and playable modded civs, probably a veteran modder will answer you
 
that sounds interesting but it will be almost impossible to balance that in any way i should do a extra version of the scenario for that

1. This one add a building to convert 1 iron and 1 coal in 2 steel (new ressource). At this time steel was an important ressource used to build artillery, cannon, dreadgnouth, etc.

You should take a look to this mod, is for Civ III, in my opinion its the most amazing mod/scenario of that time period (i bought civ III, just to be able to play it :))

seems there arent many fans of 1885era besides us two with such few downloads
everybody just wants ww2 ^:p

would love to have an Railroad Artillery too but the mod is just grafiks and until i get modbuddy working i cant do anything like that

atm im even helpless on trying to make Hulfgar's genius modpack compatible with my Scenario that would be a huge goal for me he got some great things in his mod like buildings that require oil, iron and make steel kerosin diesel etc out of it and ofc many Industrial units

the scenario you linked seems great for new ideas :D

would be cool to implement something that adds more a feeling of maintaining a Colonial empire

but for now im just goin to update the recommended mods list i first listed only the real important ones so those dont go down in a too big list ^.^
 
I can't seem to find that scenario game speed mod in the browser. How important is it?

Also, I tried starting a game as USA and was greeted with -90 happiness. This is probably something that should be looked at, as it basically makes playing USA impossible. :S
 
ok i see how that happend, the stupid idea of firaxis giving ai players remarkable bonuses in city growing and happiness means- in my tests i always saw ai players do good with happiness etc.
so i thought it would be ok tho i knew theres a bonus for ai in those things but didnt know they are that huge

so now i have to play few turns with every Civ to finally make some realistic balance(which will take a while with those loading times :P)
pls tell me any info about such unbalanced behavior of the scenario

im sorry that something like that could happen really embarassing :x
 
Sadly i cant play your new version, cause i dont have the polynesai DLC, but i was able to open it in world builder, and see a a littel error

1. you should spell the french city "Bordeaux" and not "Bordeux"
2. Maybe speel Quebec and Montreal : Québec and Montréal, since these are french language city
3. Maybe put a rive from Québec to great Lakes to represent St-Lawrence fleuve

Besides that let me know you will make your modbuddy work :)
 
yeah i have big problems maintaining the non DLC version always have to delete some stuff in XML/DLC folders first :x and then adding 374764247924792 more citys borders buildings etc etc etc.
when i have time i goin to update it maybe with mod civs instead of DLCcivs/citystates



Bordeaux spelled right in next version, about the aphostrophes i think worldbuilder doesnt like those extra characters

oh and ofc i will add the river, actually i want really every bigger river to be on the map but that takes time :p

if you want i can make a version without Polynesia quick :p

EDIT: i think im goin to change Australia, Canada to a 2nd and 3rd England so they are playable
and ofc im goin to add more "Revolutions" and wars etc just have to research some more

i have some problems with crash on loading savegames have to care for this first if possible can you try to play some turns save it and try to load it? and tell me if it works or not this is a serious problem no clue where it comes from :x
i hope im the only one with that problem, so reinstall would be enough maybe
 
I will help you with the savegame problem, but i think you will need to do me a version without polynesia. I dont know why, when i remove it myself and replace it by arabia my game still continue to crash
