world map

I have downloaded a world map from this site and put it in the civ2 folder and it does not work, any suggestions why?

i asume youve unzipped it first? otherwise maybe the map requires civ2 gold (MGE), wich is also availible in the civ2downloads section.

yep that's why, get that patch off of this site.

say what? MGE patch rule! why should ir be removed?

I don't think that should matter.Its just a map.
Make sure it is in the Maps folder.Select "start on premade world" and it should work.
Make sure it has .mp in the name.

Maybe the d/l was corrupted?..try again?

I had the same problem with that world map, until I used it with the MPG, or MGE whatever it is patch. Doesn't work with the FW, or reg.
That's a real cool map btw, start in europe 50% of the land is rivered
