Any wargame fans here? If so or if you are just a turn based strategy gamer check out World War One Gold which has been re-released by AGEOD.

Here is a screenshot of this excellent, and probably the best WW1 game out there:

Or you can get the WWI mod for Hearts of Iron 2, an awesome game which a lot of people already have.

I agree HOI2 with the WW1 mod is a great game, but a totally different animal than WW1G. One is semi realtime while the other is turn based with an optional WEGO mode.

I played it when it was first released and, well, it was rather awful to be honest with you. I'm assuming it's a bit better now that it's been patched up?

There's not much out there for screenies. I'll try to post some of the map off of my game tonight.

Definitely. Well worth the money now. I played the demo back in the beginning before this gold version and the game was wretched. With the fixes implemented in the gold version, WW1G is the almost perfect wargame on the subject period.

What has got me so hooked is the gameplay. Upon spending an hour with the game it's quite evident that this computer game handles like an old paper wargame, however don't let that turn you off. This is not a complex game to play where only a grognard would appreciate it, this is a game that any semi-hardcore turn based strategy gamer who likes history will enjoy.
