Forbidden City = 8 (7+1) Wildcard makes a difference in all games, easily obtainable.
Great Pyramids = 3 (6-3) Not as obtainable on high difficulties.

Forbidden City = 9 (8+1; Best wonder)
Great Pyramids = 0 (3-3; Eliminated- just not as good)

And that's all folks!

Thanks for this thread, DWilson, it was fun to participate! I don't have any major issues with final rankings, winner is OK (although the real :trophy: are Pyramids to me :)).

Nice elimination game. Thanks for playing everyone.

Heck yes they're number one! :yup:

Pyramids are the easiest wonder to objectively measure given their tight equivalency to other constructions in the period (builder + monument). Incorporating them into almost any build path is objectively more hammer efficient than not incorporating them. They're an investment that pays off so quickly, within only a few turns and if that's still not quick enough just chop things to bring up the break even date to meet your pressing urge for hammers! The only excuse not to build them is no desert or being too pressed by aggressive neighbours you literally fear for your life! Ughh!! :run:
:deadhorse:

:egypt: RIP Pyramids! You deserved better than this! :egypt:

Pyramids are a must-build for China.

For those playing as China, you most sacrifice as many builders as possible to get the Pyramids, since it would mean more builders in the long run (along with denying other civs from having the same number of builders as you do excluding the use of certain economic policy cards).

The funny thing is, I rarely build forbidden City, and over half of the time I can't get great Pyramid because it is too early so in recent games I just skip it unless I play China. These "general" wonders are good to have, but are not as game changing when compared with those "specialized" wonders like big Ben (money to essentially buy a science victory), Venetian arsenal (quarantee a domination in water-bath maps), Petra (with over 5 desert hills, resources and Oasis, one Petra city can easily produce more than 2 cities combined), Eiffel (if going for the seaside resort rush), great Zimbabwe (especially if you also control Carthage).... This kind of elimination is inherently for the safe choices
