Worldbuilder extension LOST

Hello,

I have a huge problem. I created a worldbuildermap, which took days -ofcourse - and now due to a windowscrash, the file has lost the needed extension (.Civ4WorldbuilderSaves) and i cannot get is back. So my work appears to be gone. Can someone help me out?

can you open it with a text editor (notepad for example)?

yup - just add the Civ4WorldbuilderSaves extension by renaming it - for example if it is called

test

name it

test.Civ4WorldbuilderSaves

that should do it. One thing - just to make sure: the extension is actually gone - and not just hidden, i.e. you have windows set to show known file extensions, right?

Hello,
Great info. I tried it and i was indeed able to change the extension.
However as i tried to load it is gave this errormessage:
"cannot load version 1936876886, expected version 103 or lower"

I tried various different extensions (like: .CivBeyondSwordWBSave or CivBeyondSwordSave or Civ4SavedGame) for the normal game and the beyond the sword version i am using. As they have different savefile names. But the same errormessage keeps poppin' up.

I'm hoping you have an idea to fix it!

the file is in my above post: please just rename it and remove the .zip at the end - it is not a zip file its just that for some reason we have never enabled uploading WarlordsWBSave files ...

Hi, i see it's a warlords save file now, does that mean i must put it in the warlords worldbuilder folder and start the game with the warlords.exe?
does it also play in Beyond the sword?

ok now it is a BtS worldbuilder save - cannot have been a Civ4 worldbuilder save since it contains options that Civ4 has not.
