Worlds Beyond Chieftan series WBC-1

Sorry for poaching a similar name to Realms Beyond Emperor.

This is a game for players still learning the game and different styles of play.

This will be a warlord level game, standard map, continents, 60% water, roaming barbarians, wet, temperate. 7 civs.

We will use honorable rules (no ROP rape, etc.).

24hr/48hr i got it/post your turns.

20 turns each the first round, then 10 turns each.

I am interested. I have never played in a Succession game and have little confidence I can find the thread that explains how to download and upload maps, etc.

Would someone be kind enough to point me in the right direction if my playing here is ok? I have won a few personal games against the computer, usually with the quick rush against one opponent. I take the Babalonians and their bowman seems to be able to take out even spearmen if you bring enough to the party.

I have been lurking, and posting a little, once I could get registered. I think I am a newbie enough to justify starting in a warlord level game. I finally figured out where the buttons were to make an army and rush the pyramids when I get a great leader. I am not quite sure how to turn on the luxuries. When i get riots I just make entertainers.

If I may, allow me to point out a few things asked about:

Here is the thread where Thunderfall introduced the Easy File Upload system, with a quick "how-to-use-it" included.

You might also want to checkout ct3 - Chieftain Training Day for a current version of how SGs work, as well as more updated info (well-buried ) on the Easy File Upload syste.

You might also want to check out SUL5a and SUL5b for a warlord game with rules well-spelled out. (Honest, Sullla, I only clicked on the first page of "A" to get the link! I won't read it until our "B"-team gets done!)

There's lots more information out there, too. You just have to read it.

Oh yes. And welcome to the addictive world of Succession Games!

Thank you, Padma, for the welcome and the welcome information.

I am under the impression this World beyond Chieftan is "vaporware". I tried to send Infoman an email but don't think it went through. If it did, he probably has decided to limit his activities to games with players who know enough to be able to download files when they begin playing.

I will keep lurking, eventually there will be a game that will want someone "barron of ideas"

Just start the game! You have at least two of you interested. Go for it! The best thing is to leave it as an open game. I think this does more to encourage first timers to join in for a round or two without having to commit to the end. If infoman has gone away, don't wait.
