After puzzling out implications of forested, no-resource map, game has played simpler than anticipated. For example, didn't realize how infrequently barbs appear at Noble level. Nonetheless, pleased to have a map so different to deal with.
Founded two additional cities, the first to the NW to block the Incas from those flood plains and the second on the flood plains to the SE.
Researched Mining and BW to be able to chop workers, then moved on to The Wheel and Pottery to take advantage of the cheap granaries. Don't recall the exact order, but studied Mysticism and built Stonehenge, Writing and built a library in Washington, then remember I made a mistake (based on experience in test game that didn't replicate) and went for Alphabet before Math. Eventually traded or researched the techs required to build the Oracle and used that to get Construction. Studied Monarchy, Feudalism, Currency and CoL before cutting way back on research. Eventually researched Drama and Music (for GA) and CS for extended farming.
Produced four workers before chopping a settler (whipped my second settler) and continued to produce primarily workers until catapults became available. Chopped all the forests down in the initial three cites to get cats advancing ASAP, then started chopping forests just outside the fat crosses of captured cities to leave most forests within for health. Happiness achieved with warrior MPs.
Initial army of cats attacked the Incas, then the English, then the Aztecs. Second army deployed against the French and then the Ottomans. Third cat and longbow army conquered the Koreans in 500 AD.
There is now one Ottoman city remaining, and it will stand while more land is dominated and the population (and score) grows. Built granaries in captured cities, followed by either a courthouse and/or an aqueduct.
