I used to play Wotm58 some time ago but for once didn't beg the spoiler threads. Apparently no-one else did either. Now I can't remember anything (about my game) anymore. But since the spoiler threads don't exist it doesn't matter anyway.

I have not started yet either... I am thinking about it for Easter weekend... I was just worried there for some reason there was no reason (on the other hand, that might be a way to get a gold medal....)

My best chance for a gold medal is minimal participants with them all going culture, space or diplo.

Yeah, that is roughly what I was thinking.... My problem is mainly that I like empire building, and almost always go for space... It just does not compete well against the early domination and conquest wins....

I also like my empire big (population vise), Wonder-full, with almost every building built at almost every city. So there's no time to build that huge army and go for Conquest/Domination. Bad city specialization, no whipping and forest hugging doesn't help as well.

If you already master emperor and now only go for specific wonders, specialize your cities, ferociously whip your unimproved tiles and cut your trees, then you'll beat immortal in no time. Huge armies also help.

Sounds like you are perfectly aware of what you need to change to become better. But then I know how good it feels to build nice cities.

I'm far from mastering Emperor, especially when unfriendly neighbors start attacking in BCs while I'm still very weak and behind in techs. So Immortal will have to wait.

You might be right. But I cannot force myself to these changes yet. Besides, being aware and being able to implement it in game are two very different things. And cities with all 21 tiles worked (no matter how bad some of them are) is like a fetish to me
Maybe participating in GOTM will change that.

This is a test for zbg to see if he has successfully configured Tapatalk to ignore quotes in non-subscribed threads.

Used this thread (instead of Lurker Thread); I doubt he is subscribed to it, but it ok for him to read and post in it. If successful, he will post how to configure Tapatalk in the Maintenance Thread. It's mostly moot as Pollux and I will just copy text instead of using the quote function. Still it's good to be safe.
