Would this cure the dark terrain problem on my desktop?

Yes, and it would save us from bumping up constructive useful posts to force these useless posts down.

Don't respond. It will just stay on the first page longer.

System Requirements for Age of Empires III

Microsoft® Windows® XP

256 MB of system RAM
2 GB available hard disk space
32x speed or faster CD-ROM drive
64 MB video card with support for hardware transformation and lighting required
Sound card, speakers or headphones required for audio
Microsoft Mouse or compatible pointing device
56.6 Kbps or better modem for online play

I don't know if AOE will feature "black terrain" but I can bet you anything that if you don't have the hardware to run Civ 4, you will see your share of problems in AOE 3 as well.... ;)

And thats the end of that story.

Well, my post was meant to be tongue in cheek, since I spent the $50 on some Beta software, I AM THE CUSTOMER!!

But from what I'm reading, it's a software error, not a hardware deficiency.

I found it humorous and think it deserves a bump. If I read the word "costructive" one more time, I am going to puke violently.

This is where some wise guy (and I use the term wise loosely) chimes in and says "Constructive..huhuh" or "Why don't you stop coming to this forum?"

I can't. I am what you might call a vicarious masochist. I love reading about all these pour souls that can't get this perfect game to run because they just won't listen to all these "constructive" guys. I mean, c'mon! It has nothing to do with the ridiculously poor state of the game. You guys just aren't constructive. That's the real problem.

I hate disclaimers, but I also hate misinterpretation. So...

NOTE: THIS POST IS NOT MEANT TO BE TAKEN SERIOUSLY. IT IS MEANT TO BE TAKEN AS THE MOST BITTER SARCASM. THE FOLLOWING IS GOSPEL:

CONSTRUCTIVENESS IS FUTILE. THE GAME IS BROKEN.

My graphics card dosen't support Hardware transform and lighting (or w/e), yet AOE3 runs perfectly and has no problems.

This leads me to belieave it is indeed the game.
