Would you like that there aree casual events that randomly appears in the game and can have some influence on the course of the game?
Casual events i have thought are:
-plagues (-8 health in one city)
-famines (-1 food for tile in every city of a civ or only in 1 city)
-global recession (-10% gold for city, worldwide)
-political assassination (can create a negative modifiere toward a civ)
-commerce growth (+1 trade route for civ)
-resource value increased (for example all tiles with gold will get the double of hammers and gold)
-increasing activity of pirates (privateers which attack your sea resources and navies)
-increasing terrorist organizations activity(can destroy improvement in a city or kill people in a city)
increasing tourism (+10% gold for cities with refined culture, available only in modern era)
-great cultural event (+100 culture in a city).
So these are some of my ideas, do you think adding these random events could help making civ4 a game more funny?

I think people would like good random events, but people won't like bad ones.

It's the same as when they came up with the idea of golden ages. Originally, they were going to put dark ages in, but they figured it was much more fun to have golden ages instead.

here are mine

Great Depression ( -30% gold for cities)
Torrnado (kills 10% pop kills any tiles or unites in way)
Tital Wave ( Kills 10% pop kills any tiles or unites in way (can only happen in coastal cities)

Yes in part i agree that having golden age instead of a dark age is siply more funny but having only good events in my opinion doesn't make events interesting. There should be a balance between them, what is the point in having onl an event you have discovered 5000bc under your bed. What is interesting is player adaptation also to bad things. For example having a plague with -8 health in a city force the player to make some different choices than he would have done, without adding that these events would add some flavour to gameplay

But remember that golden ages don't happen by chance and never have. If dark ages came about because of certain actions then fair enough but to have them as a random event isn't fair on the player.

As to random events in general? Well, they could be fun but they could also be very, very annoying. Who wants to randomly have their best city wiped out by plague or se their opponent get a commerce boost for nothing? Tick box on the option menu would sort that out.
