Wow! Barbarians ho!

I've built Natures Revolt for the purpose of gaining barb animals a few times now. I have never gotten a Gorilla as a result. Does anyone know what barb unit (if any) will turn into an Ape?
At the present time, there is no such unit. You'll only get Wolves, Lions, Panthers, Tigers and Bears (at best) from this ritual.

Thank you both. I had briefly searched but came up with nothing.

I wonder if the animal replacement can be done randomly?

Natures revolt turns all barbarian into animals so if you razed one civilisation and left the terrain alone it will spawn barbs. Then you complete the ritual and some missing animals should appear. That is how I would do it.
That's a lot of work for a wonder!
You guys are funny :)

Of course, I'm not one to talk. I'll spend weeks converting a map to a green, elven paradise (even after the game is won).

On a large map with the Sheiman your goal is to raze as many cities as possible. I just do not have the time and the money to settle that land again so there are a wast terrains of barbarian lands in the late game for me. I had a big battleground for leveling my troops till beast masters came, fluries and other T4 stuff and my lvl-ing war elephants started to die. It was then when I decided to finally colonize that land and win the conquest victory.

If you want the Armageddon then there will be some free land for barbs.

I haven't yet built the GM. I've come close. I have caught and kept, two
Gorillas in two separate games now. But then couldn't locate a Panther or Lion.

The Oasis map seems pretty good at generating all of the animal types.

Wow, that's incredible that you got two gorillas and a tiger, but no lions? I find lions almost as easy to get as wolves.

The Grand Menagerie is really a game inside a game. Who said there are no quests yet in FFH Fire?;)

PS. I like the idea about taking down some cities on a full map to make room for the Nature's Revolt, but the 'No Gorilla' policy kinda defeats that idea as the gorilla is one of the most elusive critters.

they probobly could add resources for each animal in bts so even if some other civ managed to get a few of the pens you could trade for some of those animals. also animal pens could provide happiness as long as you have that resource . the way the system works now will allow for that to be done

also i think that all animals should have a spawning mechanisim

gorillas could build a den- but only while standing on bannanas :) it probobly would work better if it was any food resource within a jungle

panthers would spawn new panthers but only while standing on jungle.

tigers could spawn a lair only when two tigers are close to eachother.

hahaha, some great ideas there, kenken especially about the gorilla den being formed on bananas.

Getting two Tigers close together may be really rare - I have only seen one in 6 games. But, I do like your, um, sexual/breeding connotation there.

Good job!:goodjob:

Oops I meant Tigers and Panthers. Both those successful Gorilla captures were on an Oasis map where the Lions have outnumbered the Wolves. I'm playing a third Oasis map and although I haven't bothered capturing animals I found a couple more Gorillas in the desert. Its funny that in the last three maps the Gorillas seem to spawn in the one tile Jungles surrounded by desert and not in the large expanses of Jungles within Forests. I dont know if this is common but this is the way its been for three maps in a row.

Could the Grand Menagerie require only a certain number of pens, like the way that the Towers only require a certain number of mana?
I second this motion. :goodjob:
