Okay you guys here are the civilopedia icons for wryms great planes he's just recently made

Here are all the icons


[edit] I was just wondering "moderators" if we could maybe start a civilopedia stuff library or something, cuz for some of them i have civilopedia icons and stuff but i don't wanna revive a more than dead thread

I think you should do some of his other units, like his marage and F-5/20. Plus maybe, if you're kind enough, do the unit32s...

They won't work in game, they are not 256 colors.

Unit creators should only create a simple picture of the rendered unit and let the mod makers actually convert it to civilopedia-suitable format.

And if you can't find a rendered picture (because that unit maker wanted to spend time on perfecting units instead), then go to images.google.com, find an image, crop, resize, reduce colours, set two last colours and save as pcx.

Grey is good enough. But you shouldn't worry too much about it, as I said before, it's mod makers job to get the pedia pics right. If you don't get the colour right, anyone can use Paintshop pro evaluation version to easily replace the colour.

a question about the planes you've done:

Are you using premade models, or do you do all of them from scratch?

If the later, then you are using somekind of faster-than-light tech currently unknown to man.

Hey great job Wrym....yea i realized using my method on photoshop is a lil quirky.......wyrm theyre best if theyre white since it maintains consistency and make them look more authentic since all the acutal ones are white......also guys what od u think about having a civilopedia library? so like for all the long dead units we could just make pedia stuff for them w/o having to revive the dead threads

Love the pediaicons, thanks for making them. Love the idea of a pedialibrary.

I agree with you that if the unit creator doesn’t include the pediaicon then its up to the modder to find one, but when the unit creator is working with a 3D model there is no reason I can see why they couldn’t easily take a shot of it from a cool angle and include it as a pediaicon with the unit. I prefer if things are consistent with the original look of the game, and would rather not have backgrounds for my pediaicons.
