Im getting the same sorta xml error that apparantly everyone else seems to be getting. I've applied the 1.61 patch and tried several times to reload the game and patch but no luck. In addition i also tried to check my language options because i saw that as advise as well. Still no luck... i realize there are alot of ppl having this error and i've looked around and none of the advise from problems i've looked at seem to work and alot of it is so scattered about its hard to comprehend... is there anyone who can please help me specifically with my problem and just tell me clear cut what to do? This is the first set of errors i get in a long line of such.... any help would be much appreciated... thx

If you have installed any MODS to the game then these could be causing the problem. The recommended procedure is to clear everything out before re-installing, to get a nice clean game back, free from 3rd party influences:

{Back up any saved games and/or .Civ4replay files first if you want to keep these games and Hall of Fame records}
1. Uninstall game
2. Manually remove all files & folders remaining in the game folder
3. Manually remove all Civ files & folders located under "My documents"
4. Now re-install the game and patch to v1.61
5. Test. If all goes well, restore the back up game and replay files.

In future, check that any MODS you wish to install are compatible with the game version you are running. Also always bear in mind that if the game is updated again then any 'old' mods may not be compatible with the new patch.

I assume you've already tried to install the Microsoft XML parser, which is known to solve a lot of XML issues?

Did you mistype this in your message or is it really misspelled in your XML file?
