xml errors when starting patch 3.17

I just installed the new BTS patch 3.17 and could not run BTS. I got the error
when it was doing the check xml part of the load.

Failed Loading XML file xml\Civilizations/CIV4TraitInfos.xml. [.\FXml.cpp:133] Error parsing XML File -

File: xml\Civilizations/CIV4TraitInfos.xml
Reason: Element content is invalid according to the DTD/Schema.

Followed by many other errors.

So I did a complete reinstall of BTS, deleting all BTS folders first. I still have the problem.

Any ideas? Note I have not yet tried any Mods I was just trying a plain old BTS start. If I press OK to all the errors I eventually get the first menu.

Reinstalling BtS won't suffice. Try a complete reinstall of everything. Vanilla Civ4, Warlords if you have it, then BtS.

Try clearing your BtS cache. That actually worked for me when I was having similar problems.

Forgot the cache, but clearing it did not fix the problem. Or maybe it just moved it to the "loading uncached xml" part of the start up.

Oh well time to remove all of CIV IV jsut as soon as I find where I put all the disks
