Is there any better tactic than massing cities with yang build a few mines and forests and pump out units. Other factions just can't seem to keep up with his insane rexing + production.

It crushes the ai. I don't play multiplayer though. I think it is the superior tactic. Is he meant to be this broken?

scenarios with boosted AIs can give you a real challenge up until Fusion power.
otherwise i strongly recommend MP (if you're willing to try).
