Yes or No.. please?

Hi, i've read some posts about video cards and TnL cards etc etc... I know my card doesn't support TnL and would normally leave it at that but some people seem to be saying Civ IV runs on it... my card is intel extreme II - Intel® 82845G.. i have 512mb ram... can anyone say whether it should run or not?

I have the exact same card and it runs for me although with a low framerate. This doesn't matter to me in a strategy game like civ. There are a couple of things thhat helped mine perform better:

1) Harkonnen's memory fix:

Fixes huge memory problem with game, especially with only 512mb this is a must.

2) Blue marble mod:
http://forums.civfanatics.com/showthread.php?t=140246
This tones down the terrain graphics some also comes with "civscale" which allows you to adjust graphics further. Turn off clouds with civscale, it makes a huge difference.

3) 1.09 patch

This got rid of the "black terrain" glitch for me

I'm assumung that since its the same card the same fixes will work but there are many other variables. It took me a couple weeks of listening to 2k support blaming my hardware/drivers, pouring over this and other forums, and good old fashioned trial and error to get my game to an acceptable performance level. Just be prepared, this game has caused more than one fist through a wall.
