Basically, you can now see the culture per turn, total civics, science and technologies etc. for all players that you have met it seems.

What do you guys think?

I like this, people used to be able to game the system and get the info previously (civ4, pro players would look at "steps" of science and military etc. to deduce a new technology, unit and so on.

This led to the histographs being removed in civ5, which was understandable.

Now they are giving everyone all the info.

I'm not exactly sure which way to lean, but my philosophy is that if a system can be gamed (such as the example I gave in civ4, or the production overflow abuse of setting a city to production in civ5) then it should either be removed or given to all.

It's nothing you couldn't see in civ5. This is just obvious and pretty, but basicly no change.

Well let's not jump the gun and give them a chance before we condemn them.

The worst would be if they solved the AI problems with huge % boosts to production/food/science, essentially removing entire features from the game (wonders, early religion...) making it a war-only game again.

As long as you can shut it off and make it optional then it is perfectly fine. :)

You could see the leading civ's science in demographic and your own - and it's rather easy to place the rest by simply looking at their units. You couldn't see science output, but does that really matter when you already know how far they are compared to you? I think this is better - but the best option would be to hide it in espionage.

You could easily see culture victury, culture per turn, tourism etc in civ5. You could also see score and religion - but civ5 didn't have religion victory.

So yea, in large parts they just streamlined it to fit the information level of civ5 culture/tourist victory progress.

If you don't want the info, then dont open that tab :) In my opinion, I love information and cant get enough - it's just a matter of how it is displayed.

This seems useful, especially seeing the tech scores all in one place. I used that all the time when trying to decide who to invade, gauge who was winning, and where to send spies. It should be a little less work to do this now.

Kind of disappointed it isn't linked to espionage...

But generally I think it's good. It allows you to plan ahead and make strategic decision without all the effort of massive micromanagement. I guess it makes the game slightly easier though. Considering the AI looks pretty bad so far, this is not a good thing.

How do we know its Not...it may be a low level of gossip, but it probably requires a level.

This is what the More Details resulted in when checked in a build that Writing Bull was playing (hence the German). Breaks down all the points for the subcategories.
